Sowing Seeds of Change

The Growth Gardens initiative was born from a simple idea: utilize unused urban land in the Cape Town area to solve two critical issues—food insecurity and unemployment.

By teaching homeless and marginalized individuals the science of subsistence farming, we provide them with a therapeutic environment, a highly marketable skill set, and the immediate reward of harvesting their own food.
